Paulina Hernández-TrejoStudent Fellow
Paulina Hernández-Trejo is a doctoral student in English at the University of Notre Dame. She researches multiethnic literature in the Borderlands. In particular, Paulina focuses on sites of haunting and their relationship to different forms of (im)migration across the nation-state border of U.S./Mexico and in the U.S. She began contributing to Geotestimonios Transfronterizxs as a student in Sylvia Fernández’s course in Fall 2022 at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Elisa Brigette CastroStudent Fellow
Elisa Castro is a first-generation Mexican American student who recently graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a master’s degree in Spanish and a focus on Digital Humanities at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She is part of the Transborder Digital Humanities Consortium Center as a research assistant (2025). Her research focuses on the intersections of migration and identity, exploring the impact of historical migration narratives and cultural preservation on identity formation through the use of digital humanities tools. In Fall 2024, she began contributing to Geotestimonios Transfronterizxs as a Graduate Student Fellow at the University of Texas at San Antonio and currently continues this work.
